Hab-it Exercises › Forums › Ask Tasha! › Symptoms Worsen after exercise
Hi Tasha,
I have been doing the exercises on the DVD for about 6 months. The first months I had great success and my prolapse was rarely a bother. In the last month the prolapse has gotten significantly worse so that it is restricting my activity. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or should I stop the DVD exercises or what should I do. I am 55 and post menopausal so I am wondering if the exercises and posture will actually help at my age.
Carol,
This may just be a bump in the road. I have great confidence that you can see significant improvement at any age. Take a strong look at your posture and read through the Posture section of the Educate Yourself box on this page. Often we get lulled into bad postural habits, so take a close look and “re-set”.

thank you Tasha. Actually the symptoms have gotten a little better in the last couple days so I will continue with the program and yes I have been paying more attention to my posture. I have been wondering about sitting in lawn chairs / lounges and also I have a hammock swing which I love to sit it but now I’m afraid it is not good posture-wise as it has my body leaning backwards rather than in neutral spine. What do we do in these situations?
Carol,
Take care to feel the correct muscles contracting throughout your day. These muscles will hold your tail bone slightly lifted and your belly button drawn in and up – it will not pull so much that your tailbone tucks under. Much like nutrition, if you are confident that you are doing this right 90% of the time, then you can relax in that hammock swing at the end of your day and it won’t be detrimental for the remaining 10% of your day.
